MAN IN THE MIST

The most amazing scars,
Over his shimmering arms,
Droplets of sweat like gold and pearl,
Glistening in the heat of summer,

Sweat curling his hair,
With a tanned rusty body,
And from a distance my eyes trailing over his luminous build,
I wanted him to know that he was the most handsome man I had ever seen,

And then I found him playing with children at the shore,
His laughter echoed with water,
Splashes of smiles spilled over his face,
His twinkling eyes and streaks of light,

I could gather no more of his masculinity,
And I closed my eyes,
And then the breeze sending his scent,
Making me unconscious as it touched my sense,

With shreds in my eyes,
I blushed with a sheepish smile,
Ghosts from the past were still hanging bright.
